How It Works
Digital Certificate Request
This is a simple four-step process:
- User submits a Digital Certificate Request (DCR) form on Autograph’s website.
- The application automatically verifies user identity via facial recognition.
- Facial recognition yields an identity verification score. Inadequate scores can trigger manual identity verification. Adequate scores trigger a payment link to be emailed to the requestor.
- Requestor completes payment and application issues digital certificate via email.
Inquire Certificate Status
The Validation Authority or an application can submit a request to the Certificate Authority platform to obtain a list of revoked certificates (CRL) or the status of one specific certificate.
Sign Document
This is a simple three-step process:
- User uploads a document, allocates signature items, and requests to digitally sign with his/her digital certificate.
- If the document requires a signature from multiple signers, recipients will be emailed a link that loads the ready-to-sign document.
- Document is digitally signed and the executed document is sent via email to all users where it can be downloaded through a PDF reader.
Request Signature
In cases where a user requests a digital signature from others— or where a document requires multiple signers (including the requesting party), there is a simple three-step process:
- A signature request is sent via an emailed link to the document.
- Signers sign the document via the link.
- The application verifies that all signers have executed the document before applying a timestamp and sending an email with a link to the executed document, which can be downloaded through a PDF viewer.
